    Default Really light steering

Hi all I'm having some issues with the old Veccy at present mainly my steering and handling I have recently replaced all shocks to bilstein b6 h&r lowered springs updated drop links front and rear powerflex arb bushes rear drop links and I have also done the inner and outer tie rods even after all this my car is not handling right the steering feels really light at speed and even low speeds I would say there is still slight play in the steering I did also have a hunter alignment and my steering still points to the left to go straight would this make the car feel the way it is I just hope the steering rack is not on the way out

It might be because you're tyres have worn to the old suspension. Get a tread gauge and check for uneven wear across them. It might also be that you have a buckled wheel which can cause the car to pull to one side

Cheers it has been this way before I hit pothole I just thought with lowering it with new suspension and changing bushes etc it would be better i think I will swop my rear wheels to the front and also have my steering rack inspected I just want to make sure its in tip top condition before I look at trying to swop with someone

The steering always feels more direct when it has been tracked! Maybe thats why you think it feels lighter?

That's true to be honest, my problem is I have had inner/outer track rods done which improved it but I still get no feel to what the front wheels are doing the steering almost feels numb also the wheels track to the road and at say 80 I get a slight wheel wobble now I'm thinking maybe a buckled wheel but I'm not sure i just want this problem to go away now think I need to send it in to a specialist and ask them to check out the steering and suspension has in not happy at all, could replacing most components and not changing rear upper control arms make a big difference like new parts showing up the older parts
