    Default recharging a flat battery

2 months ago I brought a new battery for the car, its a exide one. The other day I left my lights on while at work and returned to a flat battery, after 2 mins of charge on jump leads I got the car started again, the indicator on the battery is black now wich means it needs recharging. How long does it take for a battery to get full charge from flat? Because I took its down the motorway 3 junctions and its still black, I've now took it out and charging it with one of them halfords chargers

If its a decent charger, it would be ok if left overnight. a small light weight charger may take longer. Thing I found, with a decent charger will have built it, over load protection, short circuit etc... so you wont do any harm.

As above, i would leave it on as long as possible too, also you can get decent chargers that have an indicator light on when charging and when the battery is fully charged, perhaps if you are going to be leaving your lights on now and then you might want to invest in a good charger LOL -----Dave

I thought all Vectras & Signums had headlights left on alarms fitted as standard?
