Default signum elite 1.9cdti high end audio demo car

Hello im liam new to vauxhalls but i have been building demo cars for a few years my old car (cough citroen saxo) was my 1st car that i had for 6 years but it has been dying a slow death and im growing up and want to get out of that look.

2 weeks ago i bought the 05 plate signum i did think i should walk away but being desperate to get back on the road i bought it. now not knowing what to look out for on these i thought it was ok but as soon as i signed up on here i started to find out i over payed big time but oh well lesson learned for the next car i buy. lucky i have a few skills and will be able to sort everything out my self cheaply.

    Problem list:
car was a cat C 3 years ago but had been fixed and vosa checked
airbag light was on and airbag has been glued shut with the bag removed
car had display safe on cid screen cd70 replaced with cd30
    2 tyers JUST legal
boost solenoid not bolted on and vacuum pipe leaking
fog lights not fitted replaced with PAPER CLIPS
front end been replaced with pre-facelift parts
clocks had been replaced and mileage not changed to the cars mileage
    CC not working.

    Good parts:
    full leather front heated seats
    83000 miles on
drives spot on done over 2000 miles since i have had it not missed a beat
    55mpg motorway 41mpg town
    cooled glove box
    auto lights/wipers
    12m mot
    was local to me.

Now i look at the bad list and do think ********* what have i bought but i have already:

replaced paper clips with fuses (just until i get fog lights)
replaced the headunit now display safe has gone
    changed tyres £40
replaced vacuum pipes with silicone ones
    cleaned egr and boost sensor
    de-badged boot
full clay bar and machine polish

You bought a car with air bag glued in place?! :O

Was you made aware it was a cat c? private sale? If you wasn't made aware then they where breaking the law.

sorry mate but sounds like you could end up with lot of problems.
as of march your car will fail MOT with airbag light on.

and if your saying airbag is botched what other corners where cut?
have you had car professionally checked?

Was it definatly a facelift? Because I've seen a few cars 55 reg pre face.

sorry to put a downer on it. but if you wasn't sure it might of been best to take someone else along too.

an another note. Nice effort on the saxo a lot of cash went into that.

Whs mate I would of walked away from this sounds like there is going to be many problems. One way to check if it was a facelift is the dash are the vents on the too of the dash on passenger side and drivers side that paint to aide windows raw rhetoric square or round do you have a two tone dash strip and front door cards strip. thanks people

critch the car was advertised as a cat c 3 years ago but has been fixed and had been vosa inspected

i know what your saying about cut corners as i have found a couple little things but i had fixed them all for free the car has had 2 mots since it was fixed but i am going to take the car to a friend who is a mot tester and let him go over it any more problems i will be on to vosa saying the cars been sold with a dodgy mot

now saying that the vents are square so im guessing it is a preface lift so least thats another thing off the list only reason i thought it was a facelift was because i got told pomegranate was only on facelifts and i did take my friend but other than looking for leaks he wasnt much use haha

thanks the saxo was a budget car with jbl and spl dynamic amps but still done 155.6dB

well i have ordered airbag and ecu so hopefully that will sort the light out

Bits i am planning on doing are:
    change front grills
    wheels
    lower(coilover or air ride)
get the engine upto around 250
fit rear heated seats and park pilot
    change headlights and indicators
    smoked rear lights

I don't recall seeing a pre facelift car in this colour ,looks like pomegranate and that was definately a pre facelift colour and can't understand why you would put a pre facelift front end on a facelift car! Vice versa fair enough, that said it looks pretty clean mate
