    Default No Accelleration

hi, on two occasions now i have set off for work in the morning, stopping at the shop on the way, on getting back into the car it hasnt started, then it will start but with the car & spanner sign showing, then i have no accelleration at all, its as tho the accellerator cable has snapped, i have managed to limp home just in gears only, luckily not far to the shop. this happened today. i got a taxi to work, about an hour later the mrs has tried it and the car has ran fine, as normal, last time it showed no fault on the diagnostics meter, i am currently waiting for my bro to arrive and check again. problem is there was no fault codes last time and i doubt now, yet it is running fine till next time.

    04 plate energy 1.8L!

not impressed had to get a taxi work this morn! £12!

    cheers any help appreciated

Pick yourself up a fault code reader mate, £15 on ebay.

So many things can cause a car to go into limp mode, but yours sounds more serious than most as you've got no power at all... Minor faults usually just limit the revs...

God I miss a nice cable to the throttle housing...

So many occasions when it was useful to be able to open the throttle by pulling the cable under the bonnet...

Check voltage readings on love data that throttle pedal actually gets correct reading.

    also check actual throttle body.

could be a few things. Is it only when warned up it does it?
