Default Do I need my splash shield/ Bottom engine cover?

    1.9 16v CDTI prefacelift
I want to remove the whole splash shield from under the car permanently. Is this likely to cause future issues?

I do oil changes, and servicing on axle stands and the cover is always in the way. It is a pain working around it. I am trying to find a water leak at the moment and can't see under the car. Also when I drop a socket head etc, it drives me crazy.

Yup just pull it off. Makes it much easier when you inevitably drop a screwdriver or torx bit down there - at least it hits the floor then!

Bad enough with the CDTI rad pack size, dropped a wrench down the gap and it was a right pig to get out, this is without the bottom shield, just the normal bumper part lol.
