Default Vectra hatch parcel shelf rattle & built in sun blind?

Hey guys, my parcel shelf vibrates against the boot and its driving me nuts! I'm one of those people that finds rattles really annoying! On the tailgate there are the rubber 'V' shaped bits that were pushed in so I freed them off but still it rattles. A cure I found is to weight it down with coats etc but then visability is reduced so not really a cheap fix!

Does anyone know of a mod to stop it before my mind goes lol!!

Also I read in the manual about parcel shelves with sun blinds built it. Searched eBay but no joy, are they hard to get hold of and also the ones in the manual are electric with a dash button. Is there a manual operated version?

After many hours of trying to stop parcel shelf rattle which included playing with the rubbers in the tail gate, wrapping tape around the hinge pins,I found it wasn't the shelf at all it was the trim panel on the tail gate rattling against the rear screen right in the center at the top of the bump that covers the rear wiper gear there's a little black plastic clip that touches the glass ,all I did was roll up a piece of black tape and stick it inbetween the trim and the glass,on more rattle.

Feel your pain with this one. Some days mine is fine, other days it rattles like a mad thing. Have messed about with the rubber bump stop things on the tailgate, the plastic diamond-shaped bits on the rear of the shelf, the shelf hinges, the boot striker-plate, basically everything I can think of and nothing makes any difference.

Try the bit of tape mate you've tried everything else and it only takes a minute

Cheers for the replies, my first post like as well

Patch, what black tape are you using? I'll try that first as it sounds the easiest thing to try!

VMB, the sound deadening stuff you used, where did you put it? On the end of the shelf or on the tailgate trim?

Just a little black insulation tape rolled up to form a little spacer anything will do really its just to keep the trim off the glass and you can't see it when its in as the rear window has a broard black border around it in the middle, hope it works for you like it did for me.
