Default Broken wire on steering rack.

My friend recently changed my Alternator but dropped the old one down the back of the engine getting it off.
It broke off the plug that plugs into the steering rack where the column meets the rack.
After repairing it with tape he managed to get it back on, however I now have a warning light on the dash (steering wheel ! ).

Is it a sensor he's broke and if so what's it called ? Where can I get a replacement plug/wire that plugs into it ?

    Many thanks

Your best bet would be from a scrap yard.

as i think it may only come as part of loom from vxl

Have you tried wiggling it to see if can make a better connection?

Not tried that yet as I can't get under. Its plugged in tight enough. Gonna have to have it out for a proper repair if I can't find a replacement lead.

Remove the connector at the steering pump, I assume it's a facelift with compact EHPS, and remove the sensor with the cable attached then you can clean and inspect on the bench. I damaged mine and did easy repair as only one cable broken managed to solder it back.
