Default Would I need an alignment check after replacing the top strut bearings?

    As per subject header.

The offside top strut bearing is sounding rough. Due to the bad weather and lack of time I have at the moment it looks like I'll have to get the local dealer to do it. Trouble is they can't do it until Wednesday at the earliest.

On Tuesday I'm having 2 new tyres fitted and a 4 wheel alignment carried out (because of odd rear tyre wear) elsewhere, all booked in prior to the noise of the strut bearing occuring.

What I don't want is to have the alignment carried out Tuesday and then the main dealer screwing up the settings Wednesday.

Does it all go back together as it came apart, or will it need an alignment check carrying out after the strut bearing has been replaced?

there is slight movement on the top 3 torx bolts it allows it to twist and move slightly so yes it would alter it
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

    Thanks Plasma.

    Damn!

Need the tyres replacing ASAP and was going to get them to do the 4 wheel alignment at the same time.

It looks like I'm going to have to take a chance on whether the Vx garage screw up the alignment after changing the strut bearing. Hopefully they'll do a basic check at the very least after replacing it to make sure its still ok.

    That's what I've been quoted.

Top strut bearing changed on Tuesday by my local Vx dealer.

£66.78 (price after having 25% taken off for having a Masterfit Service card)

Part was £23.40 and took ¾ of an hour to change.

Part No if anyone is interested is 13270705

It wasn't worth getting the spanners out and doing the job myelf when someone else can do it for approx £43.

Now I've got to get the alignment and new tyres sorted out.
