    thanks both :-)
0.4lb/min is about 2g/s i think, ive got stft around 5 and long term about 11% so now i replaced the faulty lambda and still have a high reading although very nearly right i think the car is running rich because the ecu is adding fuel as it thinks the car is running lean. must be sucking air in some where. im going to clean the maf sensor check the plugs and hunt for the air leak.

Use a bit of soapy water in spray bottle to check for leaks.

or can carefully use brake/carb cleaner/propane

can you carefully squirt carb cleaner into intake and fuel trims should start changing to negative.

unfortunatly i couldnt find a cotton bud so one of the foil strips on the maf snapped, i have soldered a wire across to the other strip, are both strips the same as one strip will now be giving both readings?

Ones heated an ones not i believe an measures by change in heated one.

its best when cleaning mafs to just use carb cleaner spray an then leave to dry naturally.

replace with genuine or OE as cheap one can an do cause problems

cheers critch, thats no good then, lol
ive now replaced the maf with a working second hand one, ive cleaned out the throttle body which was really gunked up and had a blocked recirculation pin hole! all back on tight, now its worse lmao
i say worse,, the stft is now 0 which is good, but maf is now 8 g/s idle and it dosent like idle sounds like its missing, however mid and high throttle the car is quicker and smoother!
cat dosent rattle, im going to disconnect the battery for an hour in the morning to reset ecu but its now getting boring.
the jubilee clip wasnt great after the maf so im going to change that too,
