    Default iPhone Head Unit

    Hello

I am planning to replace my standard head unit with a double din. So this is what I envisage:

    All music stored on iPhone.

iPhone mounted on dash holder/vent holder (still unsure which will be best)

Short iPhone lead going into front or out the back connector on head unit.

I would like to have full control through the head unit.

I would also like the steering wheel controls to work with head unit, and the standard sat nav/display to work if possible.

I have never upgraded in car audio before so would really like some advice from you guys. Has anyone done anything like this? My main concern is keeping it all looking neat, tidy and as flush fitting as possible. Budget is.... flexible!

    Thanks

Are you likely to ever want to use CDs or DVDs? If no, then the Pioneer SPH-DA100 should fit the bill. They're not a huge amount of cash either.

ETA: the standard nav display won't work (as you're removing the navi head unit), however this will allow certain nav applications stored on the iphone to display on the screen of the DA100. The top display will just show time, temp, date, and BC functions. You'll need another adaptor to enable the steering wheel controls to work.

For in car holders, try Brodit (supplied by DSL Developments). not the cheapest but quality and fit is perfect.
