Default Alpine display and remote help

Just received my Alpine remote and display interface but the instructions are a little poor.

Do I need some sort of patch lead to go in the other end of the box or is that everything?

    H/u is a alpine 505

    Cheers

Looks like it needs a patch lead but then again the small 3.5mm jack connector is on the loom... Random

Whats the part number? It's a bit too blurry on the photos, is it d1010p? Also might be worth asking the place you got it from, or send an email to alpine technical...

Looking around the net, I'd just plug it in as is, personally.

I'm inclined to think that the extra plug is used for flashing software to the device in the factory and seemingly doesn't appear to be used for anything else.

See how it goes and report back?

Honestly don't remember. I originally bought the S1010P (steering controls only) and later upgraded it to the D1010P (display and steering controls).

Looking back at my old pics, mine's the same as yours before I installed it. There's two seperate leads, a multi pin mini din for the display and a 3.5mm jack for the steering controls that plug into the back of the head unit.

If you have any problems, let me know and I'll see if I can get to mine and double check all the connections for you, I need to pull my glove box out to get my DVB-T box out as it's playing up at the moment anyway.

Ok thanks Ian mate, guess it makes sense that it won't need a patch lead if the jack does the steering controls.

I'll pull it out over the weekend and have a butchers

    Cheers
