Default gearbox oil replaced but feels worse now

ive suffered with a notchy gearbox since i brought my car so as suggested on here i drained off the oil oil and refilled.

I drained off the old oil but only got 2.9 litres out.I then refilled it with 2.4 litres and put in a tube of mollyslip aswell.

If anything it feels worse,i still have the notchyness but also a sensation of the gearbox feeling dry.

Were any of the F40 gearboxes filled correctly as im worried that ive not put enough in and am doing damage now?

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Vectra Hatch

Trim : SRI with added X-Pack

    Engine : 1.9 16v 150

    Year : 2006

    Mileage : Near 100K

    Default

Put too much in, should put in 2.2litres.

I'd stay away from additives and use the genuine red vauxhall oil.

Supposed to be 2.4ltr. Vauxhall I think at factory were putting in 3.2lts BUT reduced this to rectify/reduce the notchyness.

i got the stuff from vauxhall as i didnt want to pay the amount that halfods charge.I definatly put in 2.4l as suggested on here and a few outher forums.

I understand that having too much oil in can cause the pressure to build upand cause problems but theres a vent for it to expell out of so neverr really understood exactly why this would cause problems.

If i had put too much(2.4l) then compared to the 2.9l that was in there is should feel better? it does indeed feel different but not in a good way
