    Default Hatchback alarm help

    hi all
i have a 03 plate vec hatch and im getting the safe check on the dash display. now ive changed the powersounder in the boot. does the system need reset at all or is it plug and play?
reason i ask is it is still coming on and have tryed locking the car etc.
now i have noticed that the led on the alarm switch stays a steady red then it flashes 20 times rapidly then back to the standard flash
does the 20 flashes indicate the fault at all?

Have you had the fault code(s) read out, or did you just take pot luck the power sounder was the problem?

Does your rear screen heater work ok. This is used as a glass break sensor when the car is locked and the alarm set. If it is open circuit it will give the 'check safeguard' message.

Also check fuse 23 in the rear fusebox.

ive now had the codes looked at and as it happens the powersounder was also at fault but is now not present and has cleared, unfort it is still firing up code "b2955-6 antitheft warning system sensor datalink circuit low voltage or circuit open " can anyone shed any light on the possibility of what this could be? thanks

Try replacing the bonnet sensor it might be broken even though it looks fine

Hi guys...sorry to jump on an old thread here. .. im having the dreaded safeguard msg. I have (hopefully) eliminated the the following:
    Rear demister works
    All fuses are fine
When I arm the alarm and put hand thru window to open door it sets alarm off on every door. Also on bonnet opening. So cant be any of them. I have also sat in the car and locked it with the fob and moved about and it seems the ultrasonic sensors arent working and my alarm didnt go off. Also when I lock the car via fob the red led light flashes straight away indicating a fault. Lastly, when I deactivate the ultrasonics with the running man button the safeguard message goes away. Please help....

you've pretty much diagnosed it yourself, try replacing the ultrasonic sensor.
