    Default Someone with a haynes...?

    Hi Guys,

My Haynes is still in the post but I could do with some info regarding torque torque settings for tomorow for my own peice of mind really, I dont want things falling off lol.

The car is a 2006 Vectra 1.9 CDTI 150 Design.

I'd like the torque settings for:

    - Drop links
    - Hub to Strut bolts
    - Strut to chassis (under bonnet) bolts

Seeing as I drove my 'new' Vec for the first time ever today...1/4 mile into the journey it snapped a spring and killed a nearly new rainsport. And I bought this car to be more reliable than my Peugeot!

    Cheers in advance.
    Tom

Lol...nah, staying standard this time...lost count of the number of cars I've ruined and wasted money by modifying them lol.

I've also had 7 peugeots....6 of which were 306s (the 106 I sold to mate who gave me a lift this morning when the Vec broke, and the last 306 took me to buy parts to fix the vectra this afternoon, the irony lol....)

Not a good start Tom, but don't be dis heartened by it! They are epic cars. You should have realised that by the length i've kept this Vec!

Get a pic up of the ****** thing! Or PM me a link to where you got it

Was it a dealer? You should get it done under warranty??

Lol, I had expected something to break Jordan, I do with all cars I buy now, infact theres only one I've ever bought that hasn't had problems in the first week (1.8 306) lol! I even did loads more checks than usual and the guy took me on a ~15 mile test drive and even delivered the car to me so he obviously didn't realise anything like that would happen. But I'm kinda 'glad' it happened at 30mph in my village, and not not at 80+ on the motorway!

Also yeah I'm amazed I haven't seen yours up for sale yet, although I see you're selling it bit by bit lol...exhaust, wheels...wonder whats next.

It wasn't a dealer unfortunately. It had a fresh MOT, full service history including clutch/DMF, EGR, cambelt, windscreen, rear suspension and loads of other stuff changed, plus the swirl flaps were working fine. It's the top spec Design model (well ok, Elite is better but meh) and just under 100k miles...all for £3000 and in Ipswich. Couldn't really turn that down, even if it is the slightly worse looking facelift!

I've replaced the spring now anyway, new spring only cost £30....but then theres both sides, plus top mounts and droplinks, and it comes to £100. Then another £100 for a 16" rainsport. Ah well, hopefully no more will need doing for a while.

As for pics, the colour comes out really odd on my camera but heres a few I took. It's not a looker....

I could very easily start adding SRi parts and modding the engine...but I'm really trying not to lol!

Is there even a Haynes for Vecs +06? Thought they stopped at the 55 plate.
