John (CDTi) put me in touch with a company who supplied me with a BUFFALO WHR-G54S Air Station. All I can say about it is 'absolutely fantastic bit of kit' I have had it maybe just under a year now and it has never ever faultered. I then bought the buffalo card to go in my laptop and they instantly communicate with each other. All the security is set up automatically. When I originally set the kit up on my pc, it literally took me longer to unpack it all than it did to plug it all in and get back on the net. It detects all your settings and automatically applies them. IIRC it cost me about £40.00. Send CDTi a pm, he'll sort you out mate. HTH

My netgear router would be better used as a doorstop. OK when it works, but continually dropping out!

    Netgear DG834G.

Never had a bit of bother with mine, no dropped connections, easy to set up. Got the laptop AJA sold me a while back running well with a Netgear Wireless USB dongle.

Argos are doing a good deal on both the DG834G and the wireless adaptor as a package.

I'm in IT, and I bought a Netgear one on the basis of reviews etc. It is slicker than the previous Linksys effort, and faster, but it crashes every now and again (every 2 weeks or so). Could be my house and the particular one I bought, but accessing some sites using wireless seems to cause it a major headache (using WPA encryption, which is reasonably secure, enough to keep the neighbours out).
