So I have used EBC pads a lot in the past.

Greens are a no no.. Far too soft, and generated a LOT of dust. I used to get fade from them on my Escort RS Turbo.
Reds are OK - Sometimes need warming before you get REAL braking power - but when they are warm they are better than OEM etc.
Yellows - these are the ones... I had these on my 360BHP Saab 9000 Aero and I did many track days with them and not once did they fail!!. They were also fantastic from cold and on the road.

Yellow Stuff are the pads I am getting when my current GM ones get low on my current Saab.

    - I wouldnt get the EBC groved and or drilled discs however. Seem examples of them cracking. Standard disc's and yellow stuff are a fantastic mix.

    EBCs' works great for me.

A bit more dust on the front wheels, but nice performance.

Not the cheapest though. Haven't tried real cheapo's.

Agree on the grooved discs. Noise/drone, uneven wear and no improvements.

I find the yellows no worse then OEM - infact I would go as far as to say slightly better. Geens were VERY dusty but the Vec I think is too heavy for them anyway, Reds were less dusty than greens, maybe a little more so than OEM... yellows all the way.

I use EBC Yellow stuff on all my cars - whether they are for road or track. I've never faded a set of Yellows (although I know some people have) despite some really hard track use.

Genuine OE pads will have melted/crumbled/caught fire long before the Yellows start to suffer.

I have used Mintex 1144 on my other cars and my Bro used Mintex 1155 on his Vectra B 2.5 V6 and he loved them. The EBC pads are great in the Yellow but the rest are shocking for normal driving. If you want cheaper pads then have a look at the Black Diamond pads. I used there disks on a EVO and never had any problems with cracking etc, until I swapped to Tarox drilled and groved disks when I had a disk shatter on me. This made for a interesting drive. ...
