    Default Headlight switch lighting fault

    Hi
One of the more niggly little faults on my recently purchased Vectra (08 plate 150 dti hatchback) is that the headlight switch doesnt illuminate.
I have swapped the switch with a know working switch and mine illuminates in a friend's car, and his working switch doesnt light up in mine. This leads me tobelieve that the fault is with the wire that feeds the switch that powers the illumination of it. Does anyone know which wire out of the ones to the back of the switch powers the illumination bit. I presume if i get the correct wire i can piggy back from the same wire on a different switch, possibly the electric window switch in the drivers door ???
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The main light switch illumination is the only one that isn't fed off the dimming signal.

Check fuse 20 in the passenger compartment fusebox. (behind the end cover of the left hand end of the dash).

This fuse also feeds the clutch switch, which would affect your cruise control, and ESP sensor where fitted.

You are a Star...... The fuse had gone and I now have an illuminated switch and Cruise Control which was also not working. Is it just electrics you are a dab hand at as there are loads of faults with this car and any help is greatly appreciated

Well, I wouldn't describe myself as a 'dab hand' at anything in particular where cars are concerned, although my profession is electronics which does help in understanding car electrics.

Whatever other problems you have though, it's worth asking on this forum as there's nearly always someone who knows what they're talking about, or has had the same problem before, who will come to your aid.
