    Default Bonnet Problem

    Hi All,

My bonnet lever was loose for a long time and I didn't know how to fix(I just read how2 but it s late) and unfortunately when I wanted to open bonet, lever came till the end with a noise at the front and now there is no tension at all and bonnet doesn t open!!!
It's 2004 vectra so is there any chance to open it without break anything. I read nearly all the posts about that, still cannot open.
First of all pull the lever and get someone etc. does not work.
I thought to break the grill but when I look at the locking mech. area between the grill with a torch I cannot see the mech. because of some plastic cover around.
I managed the take the bumper out to reach the locking mech. from down but there is another plastic-rubber protective and does not allow me to see anything.
    So any idea much appreciated
    Tekin

It's possible to get bar up between rads an move the bar to open bonnet that way.

but would require access to ramps an I can tell you its not fun.

only real way on drive is to unfortunately smash grille.

Same as above. At first I thought the only way was to smash the grill, but can be done without smashing it.

    It's a 2004 Vectra, so it's pre-facelift.

I'll take some picture to help you figure out how it's organized underneath. ^^

sorry to hear your problem mate

I spose its not as bad as having a facelift as you can get a 2nd hand grill on ebay for about £20 if you have to smash it

    Thanks for your all replies,
I read all the comments, I found this pic. that I attached(if I could) is so clear but even though I took the bumper out and look through from underneath between rads. I cannot see this image all I saw is part hard part soft plastic-rubber, wish I took a pic. Only I noticed that when I press second lock releaser under the bonnet, and look from underneath I see that something pushing the black rubber towards me. I m not sure should I make a hole there with a long screwdriver if it is the center of the lock mech.
I have rump but I couldn t use them because of this vectras are too low need extended parts or try after bumper out, without bumper it s like a truck. I just used 2 trolley jack and axle stands just in case. Finally I can t see this image in my car as if all around of the mech. surrounded with rubber.

That's what i see between of rads. on the pic. Now it s dark and raining, car is on the ramp and I saw the wire pop out from its place trying to put it back with hook from underneath, cannot move the spring at all because I cannot see the center just touching the edge of V spring where the wire is pulling(I can see that point from underneath)
