    Default cat removal

i remember reading something on here about being able to smash the cat out, i have put a new one on now but was told that if i smashed all the inside out of old cat it would improve performance.
anyone know if this is true and if so how wuld you go about doing it,

Theirs a chance that air flow won't be smooth out by just smashing at out.So small chance it will hinder performance.

Also it won't pass your mot emissions

Depends on the engine i supose.. on a diesel it does not make a difference and cars pass the NCT here in ireland without problems.. at least the VAG TDI's do..

    His profile says 3.2 V6.

These have pre cats too so I'm lead to believe. As it's petrol you may compromise the car being able to pass an MOT as said. Whats more is that you may not feel much of an improvement due the presence of the pre cat if you only smash out the main one.

Nah mate I did do it on my 2.2DTI which ended up running @ 140bhp (123 standard) so it gave good results along with one or two other mods. (K+n, extra cold air feed etc)

    Then I changed to a 3.2i V6 woooohoooo
