I just wash mine as normal then apply the wax being used on that day, I do have something coming that I'm going to try out it's called Briliant Polish as seen in the link (the manufacturers web site): -

    http://www.briliant.biz/products.asp?CategoryId=2

It's also great on tail pipes, I'll post some pics when I do mine

Also, you'll see pics of a Rolls Royce there we did that using Briliant Polish it's a 1922 Silver Ghost which doesn't have any paint nop it's bare aluminium coachwork and it's sale value is £600,000 to £800,000 and it is insured for £1.5million it took a 5days to complete..........our claim to fame eh

When C's one gets really bad i use a little bit of mild scotchbrite to grain it back up..then just a bit of autosol to dull it back a bit.

    Personally I wouldn't use Autosol....you're rite it's too abrasive......just an opinion though.

Hang about the Briliant should be here tomorrow if not Wednesday, and although it's only 150ml you will NEVER have to buy another bottle and it's very mild but also VERY effective

Here is the link to a thread about the Ghost, in one picture you'll see the Signum (a large car) is totally dwarfed by the Ghost (that's on page 2 of the first link) and we used less than 1 bottle to do the entire car
