to start with the car was showing an error in the temp sensor and that was changed the error was still showing after the sensor was changed twice

i was speaking to an auto electrician on the phone today and he said i should try a tech 2 incase the system has an error in it

he said that when i changed the temp sensor and then had to jump start the car it could have put an error in the car

he also said try taking both the battery leads off and holding them together for 15 seconds to see if that would clear the error

Touching the leads together is brilliant it's called a battery reset and clears faults by removing static charge from the system, started my car one morning just about to head off on holiday and my whole dash was dead, switched her off quick battery reset and problem solved never happened again, just be careful the vehicle you do it on doesn't have a second battery anywhere eg Mercedes

If you can loan one you can do some checks yourself with multimeter an paper clip.

all you need check is disconnect an check you have a 5v reference and check the earth is good.

plug back in. And probe back of connector with paper clip.
then observe voltage on starting an as the engine warms up.

cold engine is around 4.5v an hot engine around 0.5-1v

if its reading -65 even after to sensors
you may have a short to ground on control wire
