Default Retro Fitting Park Pilot Rear Only - 2005 Facelift Elite

    Hello Guys,

I'm in the process of buying a bumper & full park pilot kit off a member on here.

I now need either advice or someone to help me retro fit this to my car!

    I have a 2005 (55) Facelift Elite.

    Where do i start?

I've looked through 13 pages of how 2's with no real help.

Anything would be a great start?

    Many thanks,
    Glenn.

have you checked to see if your car is pre wired for park pilot
if it is you should have a white plug next to the black towbar plug in the spare wheel well and the plug for the control box is behind the fuse box in the boot and the speaker plug is taped up on the back of the roof lining around the passenger side b piller

if it prewired it is easy it all just plugs in and with a little programing it should all work fine

if it not prewired you need a loom makking andy.l is your man for that he makes a lot of looms for members and he is cheap

i assume you will be swaping the bumper over if not you will need to take of the mounts and stick them to your own bumper

if you need any help let me know i only live in wednesbury

the switch in the dash is only for the front sensors iirc

the easy plug to look for will be the one that goes to the rear bumper if you lift the boot carpet look to left hand side of the wheel well below the plastic trimthat covers the boot latch you should see two plugs 1 black (towbar) and 1 white (park pilot) next to the earth point
if the white plug is there you should have the one for the control box

The switch is for the full kit, but it should come on automatically when you select reverse but it initiates the front sensors too. if you want to turn the fronts on without selecting reverse then you can press the button. I haven't come across a vec yet that didn't have the rear sensor loom installed.

Check out my previous recent threads, there's a lot of VERY useful info/ photos/ links from other members on them. Should help you out

    What kit are you buying?

the original fitted? or the VX aftermarked kit.... as the wiring, plugs ect. is different... only the coding is the same...

    hi guys,

I was just looking through TIS for the park pilot wiring diagrams and came across this:
"Note: As of model year 2005, the Park Pilot loudspeaker is incorporated into the column integration module (CIM module) and is no longer available as an individual part."

So, I guess there is no need to install any speaker for the rear park pilot.
