    Default Few small problems can you help?

    Hello My 1.9ctdi 150 144k fvsh was running perfect for months after I bought it, now a few things have happened.
    1. Takes longer to start ( about 10 more secs of turning over) , the other day it ran lumpy and wouldn't rev right for a few secs then puff of black smoke comes out and then cleared and ran fine.
    2. Cleaned egr and boost sensor, with the boost sensor there was a really small bit of plastic that broke off when I cleaned the crap out (could this affect anything) it's not the main bit of the sensor but a thin straight bit next to it (hopefully that makes sense)
    3. Just had flywheel/clutch replaced from local garage and after driving 40miles when waiting at lights with heaters on I can smell gear oil, think its burning like its on the exhaust or something but could but the smell of it but not burning.

    anyone with any ideas would great to hear from you

    the bit that broke off you boost sensor is needed so i would suggest buying a new one.Euro car parts are doing 25% off all parts at the moment so IIRC its about £35 for a new 1 which isnt bad

    If its taking longer to start then it may be;

    1) Glow plugs , will be more noticeable on cold starts and you would have a spanner icon on the dash until it warms up.
    2) Battery, may not be getting fully charged (lots of short journeys?) or may just be on its last legs the cold weather again will pull out weak batteries, and the car will tend to crnk either slower or will die sooner.
    3) Starter motor may be on its way out if the other two are ok

    So are Vauxhall via their Masterfit Member scheme. Enrol and get a £40 voucher for free to use against anything you want, plus, if your dealer has entered into the true spirit of the scheme, you will also get 25% discount off parts (and or service).

    Just for info, so check it out before you part with your money elsewhere fella.

    Cheers
