Thought i'd start a new thread on my Edition 100 turbo rebuild.
A bit of history first. last year I started loosing power so I replaced both solenoid boost valves to no avail. Soon after it went downhill sharply, first it would smell of oil then it would almost cut out when setting off from standstill. I took off the inlet pipe to the turbo and found oil so I cleaned it all up including all hoses and intercooler. Following the route of the hoses I thought the Vacum pump was leaking and drawing oil through the hose in to the inlet so I replaced it. I was wrong, it was still drinking oil. Following the sugestion of a faulty turbo, I had a look and found it to be fubard. I took it off and it looked like this

New turbo needed, I decided to follow CavemanNige and fit the TD04 with it modified to the bigger 16T. New turbo ordered and planned on sending it off to a turbo specialist to carry out the hybriding but was advised not to by Nik at Neo Brothers as he said the company wouldnt modify it to the same spec as his to match his software. Was told better off leaving the turbo as standard and going for the stage 5. Should be looking at around 250bhp. Noice.
History lesson over. This week I have fitted the turbo and prepared as much as I can ready for the new water lines, downpipe and injectors. A mention to Cavemannige here, I sent him off my injector loom to modify to fit the 630 Injectors which he did then, got told by Nik they wouldnt be needed. I would only need the green injectors. So, I asked Nige to put it back to normal. Big thankyou and sorry Nige .
As I was lowering down the downpipe, the lower Lambda sensor got caught and nipped off the end GUTTED. Niks sending hopefully a correct replacement.
All remaining parts should arrive by the weekend.
