how do i remove trim rivets?

i need to remove hatch trim to access boot strip,not sure about getting the trim rivets off without breaking them.i tried ascrewdriver but looked like messing something up.would a sturdy fork or something similar do the job as i dont have one of those trim removal tools lol

The trick is to grip and pull evenly from both sides. So a set of long nosed pliers are better than a screwdriver. But yes, a fork with suitably wide tines would do the job.

I much prefer the sort the Japanese manufacturers tend to favour, with a central pin that pushes in to release the grips. But I guess they cost more as it's two bits of plastic rather than one!
