Thumbs up Vectra C Aftermarket Audio Parts List

I've seen a few posts on here asking "what do I need to upgrade my OE radio", so I thought I'd put this together to act as a bit of a parts reference to upgrade your radio from OE to aftermarket.

    Please note:
I strongly suggest that you confirm the part numbers listed with a good car audio shop before ordering. If I've got it wrong, I can't take any responsibility for anything that happens to your car or any money you lose by not being able to refund the parts ordered. I've done this to the best of my ability and as such it has been put together as a guide, but not an instruction. I repeat, check out the details with a good car audio shop BEFORE ordering.

So, what do you do with it? It's all down to what you're fitting really.

If you have a single DIN radio, choose the Single DIN fascia column for your fascia panel. If you have a Double DIN radio, choose the Double DIN column. You need either or, not both!

If you aren't bothered about the steering wheel controls working, choose the Standard ISO column. However, if you do want your steering wheel controls working, choose the SWC ISO column. Again, you need either or, not both!

It is worth highlighting here, that if you want to retain BC control on a 2 digit radio (CD30/40 etc) you will need to order a SWC ISO and patch. Without it, you will not be able to control the BC.

If you choose to have steering wheel controls, then go to the relevant colour coded box to order the relevant patch lead for your radio. If it isn't listed, then I couldn't find a patch control to work with your chosen manufacturer. You need to order both the SWC ISO and the relevant patch lead. This is also dependent on your chosen radio having the option to work for steering wheel controls.

The aerial adaptor is to convert from the standard VX one to the general 'pokey-in' type of aftermarket radio. Some radios (Alpine, Blaupunkt) don't need this. It's up to you to check that out.

Any queries or concerns, feel free to post or drop me a PM!

Just to add a quick thing to this, I put "Multiple - see below" for the JVC C2 leads, but forgot to change it. Generally for most JVC headunits, the part number is just CTJVCLEAD. If it's a KW-AVX* headunit, you need CTJVC3LEAD

As an update, according to @cav595 AFK4049 is not the right part as per the quote below:

I emailed celsus and the part number for the same as boostpuppy is.......... AFK4122 Metallic Charcoal.

I'll be sending my one back to order the 4122

CTSVX002.2 is the newer version, and is apparently USB firmware updateable (with extra hardware: "C2 RE Flasher" and "Prog Lead 2" according to what I've been reading)

There's a bit of info on them in this PDF file: http://www.connects2downloads.co.uk/...logues/SWC.pdf

If they're the same price, then the 2.2 version is probably the better buy, but functionally they appear to offer exactly the same functions (power on from CAN, reverse sense, lights sense, speed pulse, handbrake sense etc)

    Cheers for the info BoostPuppy.

Another quick question with regards to the Aerial adapters.
Looking at the Connects2 CT27AA14 and the Autoleads PC5-136 they have an extra blue wire that seems to be for power????
The Celsus AAN2106 doesn't seem to have this extra wire?

Does it need to be connected, if so what to on a veccy with a CD30?

The blue wire is used to power the in-roof amplifier on stuff like VW and Audi cars. I've connected it up on my vec through force of habit but as to if it is strictly necessary - I'm not sure. I don't *think* these cars have a roof amp so either should work fine.

FM reception in my vec has always been pants though, so if it's made any difference, it's almost imperceptible!

The aftermarket radio will generally have a blue aerial connection used (in times gone by) to trigger an electric aerial. You can use that to hook it to, it just needs splicing in.

Does the original radio (not the display) in the car matter?
