Default Grinding noise when driving over 'sleeping policemen'

    Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I have a grinding noise that comes from both the front and rear of my car when I drive over a raised section of the road or a speed hump. Could it be the shocks or springs? I haven't noticed the ride becoming harder and it's only when I go over the humps that it makes the noise, as if the car being lifted up and then back down is causing it.

Anyone had this before? Any ideas please?

    Many thanks

    Mine has always done
However, wear gloves and lift each rear wheel arch
If you can hear a squeek then the shock absorbers are nearing the end of their life (and too short it is too)

This is usually caused by worn anti roll bar bushes.

get underneath and have a look to see where the scuffing is. It'll help narrow it down

thanks for all of the ideas guys. Can rule out the mud flap suggestion as I don't have any. I think it's probably the anti roll bar bushes. A cheap replacement part but difficult to change I imagine.
