    Engine : 2.8 v6 turbo

    Default Car warrentys

Morning guys my 3 month warrenty on my vxr runs out in may. The garage I bought from they tried to sell me a years cover at the price of £700 ouch. Anyway been looking on the interweb and found this company http://www.gocarwarranty.co.uk/ anybody had any dealings with them. Just done a quote and can get 3 years cover for the vxr for £237 which is pretty damn good for the components it covers!

What does it cover though bud? Timing chain failure a minimum on the 2.8's now I would say!

At £237 that is just their basic (Complete) policy
Take a look at what is covered
I suggest you get a quote from them for their premium (Ultimate) policy
Do NOT upgrade to the policy with Wear and Tear cover, that is a con

Personally, look at the AA Repair Cover policy

all it says in the basic cover is engine cover which I take it is if it fails.but for a basic cover seems quit good but as m8internet says I think I would go for the comprehensive cover for three years which is a lot cheaper than strastones £700 warrenty for a year!

You would need to request a copy of their policy to see what components are actually covered
By engine, they may actually only mean the block itself!

You really do have to be careful of your warranty as they're usually not worth the paper there written on. My network q one has been nothing but trouble and the cars completely signed off the road by vosa ATM and they still refuse to repair it :-/

I've never had problems with Network Q (Sureguard), once the dealership diagnosed the issue they authorised the repair
I had my doubts over a few and accepted I had to pay for them, but it was worth the attempt (replacement key)

The main issue with Network Q is if an original part is replaced, as the replacement is only covered for 1 year

Uh they replaced my dmf without a question but now I've had a seriouse problem with the brakes the garage and network q are fobbing me off. GMAC are sorting it ATM. Really good comprehensive policy that they offer if your garage will look at it though

As has been said, make sure you read exactly what is and isn't covered as many companies will state they cover things like fueling but that may exclude (diesels) high pressure fuel pumps, fuel pipes and injectors which doesn't really leave much of the fuel system.
A lot of policies aren't worth the money they cost. That one you've looked at at that price I'd imagine has lots of items it doesn't cover but are well hidden in the small print.

I've just put a deposit on a tourer from network Q system, I've had nothing but a good experience dealing with them over the last 10years so it was a big factor in me choosing another one from their system..

Read the small print on your one Davie, but hopefully you won't have the need to use it ;-)
