Looking at getting a compressor and found one fairly cheap, the only thing im a little unsure of is the hose fitting on this picture

    ACK50E.jpg

I thought compressors only came with these sort of connections

    coupler.JPG

Can anybody clarify how to couple hoses onto the taps above, or can i just swap for the quick couplers(2nd pic)?

    cheers

Ive just looked on my compressor(its similar to the pictured one) and the PCL push fit fittings will screw in if you removed the hand lever valves...

That looks different to the usual connectors! Looks as though you push the pipe on to them then clamp with a jubilee clip. Aldi are doing a 2.5 hp compressure just now for £100 with a 3 year guarantee

Those fittings are industrial quick connects

You can get 1/4" or 3/8" NPT fittings with the same airline fittings as the compressor above so you could change them over/

Actually those nipples are meant to fit hoses directly with a clamp ring. On the other side of the hose, you'll pu another nipple connector with a female quick coupler on the other side.

Since I'm at my office right now, I could take a picture of the compressor we use to clean up computers, having managed to show both hose ends on the same picture for you to see...

1/8 or 1/4 NPT stuff concerns threaded parts only. BTW, the nipples here are fastened by pressure nuts, and not threaded at the rear.

Went to the hardware shop this morning and they sell hoses assemblies with a crimped quick coupler. Should be more handy than the nipple coupler on this side, as the clamp sometimes comes in the way when disconnecting devices.
