    Vehicle : Vectra 1.8 SRi

    Trim : SRi

    Engine : Z18XE

    Year : 2004

Default Is it wrong to want a Meriva VXR?

Has anyone got or driven one? Are they as much fun as I imagine? I'm thinking it's a reasonably economic way onto VXR ownership?

Keif has one for his missus iirc. Very tidy too

Put it this way, it'll blow any other mini MPV away

Corsa's are a bit too small for me to consider really and I'm guessing that the Meriva's are a relatively rare beast?

No mate but they do a kitted design model facelift that looks very smart indeed, doesn't come with anything exciting under the bonnet though iirc

The facelift Meriva is a great car, We found a 1.4 turbo SE for Mandy's dad and kitted up would look great in my opinion. It's just a shame the highest output they do is a 130bhp 1.4.

As John IS3 says, I bought my wife one last year.
    Take a look HERE

It's MORE fun than you'll imagine, noticably quicker than my 2.0T Signum. People just don't know what they are, so they get a surprise when the 180bhp just pulls it way.

They do have issues. Gearbox bearings is probably the main one, but just get into the habit of changing the engine and gearbox oil every 6 months.

    As for rarity

    99 Arden Blue
    28 Star Silver
    85 Black Sapphire
    11 Silver Lightening
    39 Flame Red

Total 262 Meriva VXRs in the country

It's pretty economical for a turbo, and insurance and tax (£250 for the year) isn't that much of a killer either.

That'll be a Meriva B, not a Meriva A facelift (which came in 2005/2006). The Meriva B (launched in 2010) comes in SE trim.

    Keith1983, any questions, ask away.
