How to fit Front Passenger Side Door glass

Hi,

I’m trying to replace the window / glass for the passenger side door (electric windows) but having difficulty in connecting the 3 'sliders' (not sure if is the correct wording) into the 'runners'. I’ve managed to get two of the sliders into the runners but cannot get all three in. Is there a certain way the glass has to be oriented to get all sliders in simultaneously? Can someone please guide me through the correct procedure to fit the window in.

The front door glasses are really awkward! If you slide the glass in at an angle you can slide it onto the front most nylon bush and then lower the back of the glass down so its level and tighten the torx up for the back section.

Now when it comes to the rear most slider they are nigh on impossible to get in the glass runner with the slider still attached to the door (i have done it but its scrapped knuckles and much swearing! The best route is to drill out the two rivets holding the slider to the door frame and then you can manouvre it much more freely and locate it on the glass runner then re- rivet it back on to the door when its located properly.

Bit of a pig to do but persevere and you will conquor the beast!

As above , drill the rivets out , I think the last one I did , I dropped a rivet from the third arm of the mechanism , and it all collapsed so I just slid the arms on and then re riveted .
Or you can take the plastic trim off the top rear of the door , and send the mechanism to the top and slide all arms on at once I think .

It is just about possible if you pull the rubber out of the channels to send the glass far enough forward to then pull the glass back onto the final slider (sure you know what i mean)... I remember doing one on a call out at 12 at night

i didnt even bother with the back runner i was so p***** off!... never saw the car again so it must work ok without it!

I sound like a right rough a**e but at 12 at night in the peeing rain needs must!

Used to be. Worked for national for 5 years. Moved to a big insurance bodyshop to be an in house fitter, trained to be a panel technician while doing the glass,been there about 7 years now so now i do both jobs (more the panel and body repair side now though) and in the nice dry undercover enviroment!

What about you, are you mobile?
