Hello everyone!

Im looking for the Vectra-c linked link from this google search hit from this forum....and i'm asking for your help to find it!

Ive got a similar problem as my cruise control keeps dropping off. this morning i tried the pull the clutch pedal trick with my foot and engaging the cruise control ((read it on another Vec forum somewhere)) and it appears it could be something with the clutch pedal thats affecting its operation -so its either the return spring or the pedal switch i reckon.

The link in the HJ webpage doesnt work and i cannot seem to find it here either....but it showed how to locate and replace the spring, which i was going to try first. I doubt i'll get anywhere with any Vx dealers with this, recall or not, so i might aswell attempt it myself....so any help with finding this link (or one like it) would be most helpful and much appreciated fellas!

not always the springs. sometimes you just need to take the stalk off and clean the points with electrical cleaner

ScottyV6 - thats an interesting thought.....but since the pedal action this morning seemed to point to that being an issue i thinks thats where i'll start fella. but thanks for the input.

After reading the link, its apparent this is a "modification" as opposed to a "replacement" fix?? Would you agree?

So, would it be safe to say, that if i dont have this spring then i should start there by buying one?

Alternatively, if i do have it then I'm probably looking at new clutch switch and/or even a clean of the stalk afterall !??

Also make sure your not resting foot on clutch pedal.

You know what; while i was testing it at lunch today i suddenly thought 'i bet thats what it is?'

It is one of them habits i actually do; and unless you know that the cruise control is affected by the clutch, you'd never know not to do it!

it took me about 7 months to break myself of the habit of resting my foot on the clutch

It took my wife £700 to stop her habit of resting her foot on the clutch pedal !
Two Micra's she's done it to, and two new clutches.
Oh, if all else fails search for the Sellotape fix-worked for me 18 months ago and still working!
