Hi mate. Try typing your VIN number in here http://ecat24.com/opel/catalog/models/1/
I'm fairly sure it lists parts as per your original car build (although it may list parts that were options on that model).

Give it a go and let us know.

Mate that is an amazing site - it's just given me the info that Vauxhall said they couldn't!!! (A spec list of the car as per build)

Seriously, I am so happy right now Have a virtual pint on me!!

Glad to hear it gave you the build spec. A VERY "Useful" site for when you want to research the part numbers needed as replacements on your car in the future.

And sorry to hear you got "duffed over" with a CD30 instead of a CD70 but hey, these units come up for sale on here and ebay, all the time (just set aside around £200 and make sure you go for the Colour Display (CID) which is the only one that actually shows you the map. The mono displays will only show you the next turning point).

Another thing to note with CD70 is that pre 2007, there wasn't an "Aux In" option (although this can be retrofitted if you have the eyes of a Kestrel, and the Soldering Skills and Tools of a Meerkat), so look for that facility in case you need it, obviously reflected in the price. Also the display (CID/GID) housings were produced for both pre-facelift cars as well as facelift and are a different dashboard fit, so beware fella

If you purchased the car from a dealer, I would give him back the car and tell him to sort out the display safe fella.

That display is showing because one or more of the display and / or headunit is not either paired together, or setup for the car.

You might get lucky and find a local member to sort the problem out with some computer gear, but if not, it would mean spending some silly money at a Vx dealer to use their kit and time.

Similarly, even when you get it sorted out, you will need to marry a new pair of display and headunits to your car if you get one. Very often these are pre-paired but although they will work as a pair, will be "useless" if you don't know the original security code if anything needs changing in the future.

None of these are insurmountable issues, but will just add time, drama, and cost to you if you jump in feet first.
