Iv been offered a cdc40 opera and gid for £70+ my cd30 and screen, is that a good price? Also the cdc40 came out of a prefacelift car but mines a facelift, will that matter? There both paired together so im asuming they will be a straight swap?

I paid £50 for my cdc40 from ebay, it would have came out a prefacelift full can
I cant find them cheaper than £100 on the bay, im assuming its come out of a prefacelift car as it has the none chrome vents with it
as far as i am aware the cd40 is a full canbus headunit, ask for a picture of the plug at the back if its the black farkar one and not the blue ISO one it should be ok, and yes the screen and headunit are apired so u will need them both.
You also need the aerial and separate dab unit plus wiring loom if you want dab and the dab unit needs to be unpaired from the doner car or its gets expensive getting the security chip changed.
Okay -
Yes CDC40 is Full CAN, so connectivity is no issue.
The display connector "may" need an extra +12 volt wire on pin 3 and / or an extra ground on pin 1 to run a GID.
If you are JUST fitting the CDC40 and the GID and they are still paired to each other, then they should more-or-less just plug straight in with no programming required.
Programming will be required if you are using the BC function, or it is not configured to your set-up (fuel type, add-on heater, ECC etc).
If you want DAB, then you will need a DAB unit, DAB Aerial and the loomage to link them.
The DAB unit would need to come as part of a complete package (with display and head-unit), or would need to be divorced if supplied on it's own.
If you get the DAB separately,
You WILL need Tech 2 / Vauxcom to divorce your current set-up, and then get the whole lot married up together.
If you are getting this programmed by a dealer, you need to factor in as much as £80 for this service... cost depends from dealership to dealership, and also from one technician to another.
I have heard of others getting it done free and others for as little as £25, but these are not common.
