The curtain air bag.
Like these from the astra, i think someone has tried this before, will try to find thread..

The handles are screwed into a metal plate covering the airbag there. The whole curtain airbag is also covered with a plastic bezel, opened on its bottom side so it forces the aibag to deploy in the choosen direction.
Those lighted handles are a good idea, but you'll be able to fit them only if they are flat on the back, as the metal plate is plain from the top of the handle to the very bottom of the roof.
You'll also be annoyed when wiring them, unless you pinch the wires between the handle housing and the plate. But what about the angle they will take where they will be entering the housing ?
