    Exclamation Strange Series Of Problems The Garage Cant Fix

    My Symptoms:

    Whenever I am driving slow around town or cruising at a set speed on the motorway my car (Veccy C 150bhp) starts to jutter and feel like its misfiring and losing power for a split second, repeatedly, intermittently.

    Another symptom, when starting the car, pop the hood, there is an intermittent 2 second noise for the first 5 minutes from the engine, as if something is purging or trying (it never used to do this)

    I have a cycle of the EML and Spanner lights come on, but no fault codes.

    On the car, not necessarily to fix this issue, in the past year I have had a New Head, New Head Gasket, 2 new injectors, Cam Belt, FULL service (meaning glow plugs, all the filters, auxiliary belt, etc..), New Alternator, New EGR Valve, New Bosch Platinum Battery, oil change and a few other things.

    Any ideas of what could be causing this issue? The mechanics have no idea and have tried full diagnostics, tried pressure tests etc...

    The main issue is the cannot replicate the fault as its intermittent, seemingly its worse after a long drive, or when itís cold, mainly driving around town, if Iím driving dual carriageways itís not as bad. Some days itís much worse some days there is now problem. Driving me up the wall.

    Sorry for the essay of waffle but difficult to explain and canít find another thread like it.

    I am assuming all turbo related pipes have been checked for integrity?? If they are collapsing or leaking they could cause some of your issues? Also check the intercooler isnt holed.

    This sounds ike the classic case of injector no.3 faulty wiring.
    What colour are your injector plugs, yellow or blue?

    Can be EGR too, if its occurring on part throttle, that's what my old one did before I replaced/blanked the EGR.

    Thanks for all the advice, it turned out to be my garage lied, didnt replace my EGR and had simply cleaned it to look like new! Anyway... just for reference, what colour should the 3rd injector wiring be?

    it should be Blue i think - if its Yellow then needs replacing (that would be the plugs)
