    Default Warning light, limp mode

    2006 2.2 direct.
When i'm being a bit foot heavy, prelonging gear changes, say leaving it in second until reaches 4500 rpm (some times more) car sudenly has a sudden loss of power wich makes me take my foot of the accelerator and car goes back to normal, some times warning light comes on (car with spanner through it), some times not, some times when warning light comes on the car goes into limp mode but as soon as i turn ignition off and restart car everything is back to normal, no warning lights and drives fine, infact the car seems to drive better.
Need to find out whats going on because car is booked in for a remap.
I know these cars suffer from problems with the direct injection system (and other things concerning fuel delivery)
Just dont know where to start, as fuel delivery parts for this car are very expensive and dont want to start buying parts i dont need.
Car has had diognostic, no fault codes.

Does sound like a fuel related issue. My 2.2 direct used to cut out when the engine got hot and in traffic. New fuel pressure regulator and it sorted it. Yours to me sounds like the fuel pump as its not coping with the extra fuel needed when you boot it a bit. Not cheap to replace new. Can get one for 150-190 of eBay. Do you have the seimans or continental fuel pump. The continental one I'd the reliable one. I might be wrong but IMO that's what it sounds like. I'm sure someone will come along with some other opinions.

Celtic tuners, £250.oo, aint gonna give my a lot i know that (NA engine), only had this car a short while and though is quite quick it just aint quick enough, i just like the feel of the car and don't want to get rid of it yet i've done a couple of small mods wich has given it a bit more. I did do a bit of research on remaps for this car and various tuners, 50 50 response, so i'm gambleing £250.oo, booked in 22nd, will post results.
