    Default Someone persuade me please...

Well..... after much thinking, I'm almost certainly going to look at this http://www.countrycarsales.co.uk/use...01310504598958 on Saturday. Looks a nice tidy low mileage example. I'm assuming half canbus?? I've always wanted a V6.

Come on guys (and gals) give me a reason to chop in the 2.2 direct. I know power etc etc but are there REAL any reasons to bite the bullet and chop my facelift in for a prefacelift, 2 year older Vectra that looks more of a sleeper and take the hit on the depreciation? MPG is not strong consideration, my 2.2 was never great on fuel anyway. Is the much difference to the handling between facelifts and prefacelifts? I thought there was. The other plus would be the possible E10 fuel issue or HP fuel pump issues, as I have the Siemens pump.

I love the V6 sound (as in handyandy-uk's youtube video) but can you really hear it in the car? or as a passer by, with a standard exhaust.

I like the idea of am Irmscher kit and grill, and maybe softstars (bit like Bloicy's)....

Any tips on what to look for. ? Cheers for reading this rambling thread

I know, it is pricey, but worth the premium maybe? I would keep for for a long time (mind you said that about this Vec I have now ).
I would have to have sold mine first before buying his black GSI, otherwise I may well have gone for it.

That's an awful lot of money!

When I bought my GSi it had a similar story, 53 plate, VX then one owner, full service history etc, higher milage at 71k but I only paid £850!!!! is the low milage really worth that much?

if you go for it (or another) you will love it, superb car and I grin from ear to ear every time I drive it, even more since I fitted an induction kit and yes passers by can hear it now!!!
High speed acceleration is outstanding making ovetaking a joy (and very addictive).
I've not had mine flat out (yet) but on a private road it will easily pull past DOUBLE the national speed limit!!! 0-60 takes 7 secs but 60-120 feels just as quick if not quicker!!!

    Yes you can hear it.

Looking at that one... correct wheels, factory HIDs, non-satnav, nice low mileage, you'll see if it's half-CANbus as soon as you see the steering wheel (3 round buttons + 3 round buttons = half CANbus).

The one thing you'll keep hearing from those of us in GSi Corner, is the big grin you get when you take it out and have some fun. Assuming all the panels are straight, no signs of cheap repairs (mismatched colours, scrapyard marked parts, etc), all switches operate and light up correctly, the best thing you can do is drive it... does it feel right? Does it sound right? Does it brake straight? Is the suspension firm but not rigid? Physically feel for broken spring ends.

And if the 414 is clear enough, does it do 0-70+ in 2nd gear?

Aswith any car... don't be afraid to walk away if it just doesn't feel right.

Pricey yes, but if its the right one with the correct documentation with low miles is it worth paying just that bit more, and by the looks of that site anything over 3k you get 15 month warranty so sorted to be fair, id say go for it if its the right one as i prefer pre-faces any way :P
