limp mode

hi just wondering if anyone can shed a bit of light on a problem im having my car starts ok after a cold start but if i turn engine off before a few miles drive spanner lioght comes on and it seems to be in limp mode i have to turn enigine of for a while before it seems to reset any ideas???

You need the fault code(s) reading out. Beats guesswork.
