Default Cooling Error codes despite changing temperature sensor - Anyone got a relay diagram?

Hi, Hope you can help. I have error P0482 - Fan Control 3 Circuit Malfunction appear on my '04 2.2 Petrol (z22se). The cooling fan had not been running and the engine would run hot if stuck in traffic. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor that is located at the thermostat housing and the cooling fan now runs, the engine no longer gets so hot but the error is still present. I have checked fuses 35 and 36 for the cooling system and they are fine.

My next thoughts are it must be one of the relays or an issue with a fan rotation sensor on the fan itself. Or maybe even the thermostat is faulty and the temperature sensor is throwing a fit? Any ideas?

The car runs perfectly and returns good mpg/performance so I'm alittle confused with what could be wrong.

If it helps I was also getting a warning regarding the oil pressure switch, which after replacing has now not appeared again.

    Thanks

have a look at the fans to make sure not seized ,check fuses ,
sounds like control unit on fan housing could be faulty

could be the wiring either to the fan itself or on one of the multiblock connectors, had this problem on kmans car... Removed the connectors gave them a cleanup (switch contact cleaner will do) and then reconnect.

think theres 2 fans but they run on a combination of 3 different settings

Has that one got the resistor for fan speed 3 underneath the radiator front bumper area, it corrodes through and stops the high speed fan cutting in.

With opcom you'll be able to activate the various speeds of the fan.

Sounds like a good idea. If I can't activate the (3?) speeds after clean connectors then its new control unit time. I'll have a go with opcom.

As Dean said. Mine was giving me random issues. I sprayed wd40 on the engine ecu contacts and cleaned them with a cotton bud and my fan issues never came back. I had tried to replace fans and wiring previously.
