Question about service history and that

Evening All, had my vectra 6months now and getting the itch to swap it for a mini cooper s. THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD. Anyway I've had the cambelt and that done when first got it for peace of mind but as it was cash job never got a receipt. If I do sell it should I mention thats its been done and no receipt? I know if I go back he will stamp the book as was serviced at the same time and ive made a list of bits and bobs thats been done. Just unsure what to do about the cambelt. Thanks

Just be honist mate. Tell them its been done by a mate so theres no receipt.

Just to play devils advocate here.... If I came to look at your car (or anyone else's) and I didn't know you and you told me the cam belt had been done but you had no proof ill be honest here and say I probably wouldn't believe you and would want it done for my peace of mind anyway....

Not having a go at you here at all mate just saying how I would be if viewing a strangers car....

If you can get him to stamp the book and mention cambelt on your service book then I think it would look better for a potential buyer!

Go back and get the book stamped! And tick the box for timing belt, simples.you can say what you like but it dont mean its true to the potential buyer (from his point of view) atleast with a ticked box and stamp it looks believable.

depends who comes to look at it really! the same was sed to me when i went to look at mine so i pulled the belt cover off took 2 mins, boom new belt !

I'm same to be honest, no offence intended but I've met too many sellers who basically lie.

Thats why I was wondering should I even mention it as I wouldn't believe someone if they told me it had been done. Oh well sure if someone knows out about engines if/when someone comes to see it they will see its a new belt so not worried. Not gonna mention it unless someone asks.
