Stealers doing their thing!? Am I being out of order?

Thought I would give my local Vauxhall Dealer a try again. Can I sense check something with you guys...

Booked my car in had to wait two weeks to have fan belt tensioner, suspension bushes(rubbers) and brake work done (I just have not got time at the mo). put it in today got a phone call just now saying cant do any of the work as no parts in. So they want me to bring the car back in two weeks (earliest booking slot) and then pay in advance for parts.

Does the pay in advance for parts thing sound weird to anyone seeing as I am a customer they have been trying toget to come back for months through letters in the post etc?

Never pay in advance. What dealership is it? I wonder if they are struggling at the moment

That's bull****. Go somewhere else. My local stealer for all their faults will at least preorder parts that are needed.

I'd agree with others. I have my car booked in for timing belt and water pump. They put me through to the parts department to make sure they had the right parts in prior to the work being carried out, but they didn't ask for payment for the parts. Sounds fishy to me.

******** that mate, you shoudnt have to pay in advance for parts - sounds like to me they are on stop with their suppliers and can only have parts on pro-forma, Id go somewhere else

Taking the urine me thinks,go and find a decent independent in your area--sure someone on here can recommend someone--that is awful service and they should be named to let others be aware.Plus you will pay less with an indy my friend------Dave

Sounds like a dealership issue to me. My local main dealer will even order up special factory order bits, give me my Masterfit discount, and still only require me to pay when I collect the bits/parts.

Go somewhere else to and to somewhere where they actually care about customer service fella, and never look back

I really value your opinion guys, having not been to a main dealer for a while I thought i was going mental but also I agree it sounds as if they are having problems.................... Eden Vauxhall in Bracknell are the culprits.
All the independants around here seem to be falling off the trade, if anyone can recc one around Bracknell/Wokingham.Ascot I would be very grateful.
