Default How to change boost hose? 1.9 CDTI 120

Hi Guys, for a couple of months I've been having a bit of a 'whoosh' noise as I accelerate and a lumpy idle. I believe that to be linked to a hole I found in the hose marked below (not my car).
I have bought a replacement silicone hose to switch with it (for £15) and was wondering if there was a guide to getting it replaced? Its pretty cramped down there and I don't really want to be messing around taking bits off I might not need to.

So, anybody done it and want to share their experience?

That's a 150 engine, (never seen a 120 engine bay) are the boost hoses in the same place?

Incidentally, that hose is easily accessible with the bumper removed (which in itself is a 5 min job).

Take out the headlight, gives you much more access to the hose clamp. Then pull off the airbox air feed pipe. It's just a push/pull fit thing. Word of warning too, the Vauxhall ones are pants so nip to Halfords or the local auto factors and pick up some of the hose clips. 55mm or so rings a bell. Should be able to eyeball it pretty well.

Cheers for the tips guys. Didn't realise it was a 150 engine but I can concur those pipes at the front of the engine are the same as on my 120. Hopefully get on it at the weekend then.
Should this improve my lumpy idle from cold?

I'm a "if it aint broke don't fix it" kinda guy too, hence I only bought the 1 hose.

I've got a leak somewhere and I figure do it all once and not have to worry coz silicone should outlast the car lol

I'm just a bit nervous of touching anything engine related or bumper removals coz I've never done it before lol

Just been and had a look, I reckon that'll do the trick. Just the 2 fixings on the top I assume? Should'nt take too long. Cheers.

You need to drop the bumper (on that side) to get access to the bottom bolt for the headlight.

Ah right, any simple instructions where I need to go for the bumper fixings?
