Default Lacquer falling off one of my wheels!

Gave my baby a good wash today, including pressure washing my alloys...

Didn't notice anything wrong, until I took her to the petrol station afterwards and decided to check my tyres.

On offside front is missing a load of lacquer! I've seen it flaking slighting before, but this time there are big chunks missing off a couple of spokes! Have I inadvertently blasted it off with the jet wash?!

What's the best thing to do now? They're only standard 16"s as fitted to all Elegance models, but it looks a bit crap!

    Disagree mate!

Bigger wheels just slow down acceleration! Too big and you end up losing your turning circle!

Mine is a refined motorway cruiser! Got the classic mini cooper for when I want a car to race around in!

No, because the overall circumference is the same you just gain more alloy and loose less tyre wall. You can put a 19" vxr wheel with a 35 side wall tyre next to a 16" wheel with a 60 wall tyre and they will be almost the same size, obviously the 19" will be wider for grip etc but rolling diametre will be same. Acceleration not affected atall, Also Less tyre you can corner better too! and If big wheels slow you down why have vxr's got 19's and not 16's?

The only disadvantage with 19" over 16" Is replacement tyres and road noise.

Does it make a difference with a 1.8?

Id take the wheel off, deflate the tyre, rub down the flaked off area till you get to solid lacquer, rub down the whole wheel, mask up and give the whole wheel a couple of coats of fresh Lacquer. Or try picking up another wheel.
