    Default New Breaks

Ive been doing loads of work on the car recently timing belt, water pump, aux drive belt, boost pipes etc... I noticed whilst doing that lot there isnt much left on the front pads and the discs are shot and today the final nail in the coffin the pad wear light came on so looks like new discs and pads all round.
Had a quick search on fleabay and came across this (ebay item no 390268869148) the sizes seem correct but seems way too cheap from what I remember paying for discs in the past, is that price about right?
The car is a 1.9cdti sri(120) so has the open wheels and the calipers look awefull so I was thinking of painting the new discs and the calipers when I do the job, any pointers for doing this what type of paint etc?
Do I need to buy any spring clips split pins wear sensors etc? And finally how does the handbreak work? Does the rear disc double up as drums and there are shoes in there or does it work on the caliper? Am I going to need new shoes.

My plan was to do the fronts first then when they have bedded in then do the backs. I have done loads of breaks in the past on older vauxhalls so am ok with how to do it but have never took them apart on this car yet, any input is appreciated as always.

That ebay listing is for "no name" pads and disks - no brand and no claims about quality. You'd be better off buying pads and disks "kits" from Vauxhall dealers which are good vakue and very good quality, and they're even cheaper if you first get yourself Trade Club membership.

You won't need any other consumables such as pins etc, but you will need a replacement wear sensor because you didn't change the pads before the sensor activated.

The handbrake works via the normal pads which grip the disk - no shoes and no drum inside the disk.
