is it 100 % that once a key is programmed to a car it cant be used on another, there are hundreds of keys on ebay , so these are all usless, the transponder can only be programmed once.

99.99% sure, i've tried other ways of reusing old keys using various means by tech2 and vauxcom and no go.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

poor sods buying keys used keys from ebay with the hop of programming them to their cars, just scrolled through 53 pages of keys all stating get a key cut and repmrogrammed and your good to go, I have a Vauxhall members discount card 25% off labour and parts, would a key count as parts.

You could look into buying new transponder chip such as this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-B...item257ad43381
This one is for standard key not flip type one, but I am sure you can get the one for flip one.
So used key + new transponder chip, will code no probs.

You can get a virginised key on ebay for around £50 or less, a blade cut to your key code on ebay for around £9.50 and program it yourself using the likes of tech2 or Vauxcom or similar

    Hi nokiaman,
I am interested in following how you resolve your key issue as, like you, I am down to 1 key as well and really need to get a new one soon. Where were you quoted £130 as I live not far from Glasgow and would appreciate if you could keep me posted.

    Thanks.

i went to vauxhalls in kew, west London and they quoted me £150 for a new key. but they also recommend a local(ish) locksmith who sorted me out for £75, I'm sure there will be someone local to you who will be able to do a key at a more reasonable price

    How about

£50 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1810770650...84.m1438.l2649 I am fairly sure this fella can cut you a blade from your keycode on the car pass, but if not then there is always ......
    £10 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GM-OPEL-VA...item3ccf6919ed

£60 tops plus your own programming tools
