If it's a 2003 LS, assuming it's not been modified, then the dipped headlight bulbs will be H7 Halogens - and as with all pre-facelift (2005) Vectras, utterly pants. Very well documented on here how to get half decent headlights though - firstly replace the bulbs with Osram Nightbreakers (around £18 from places like Eurocarparts), then adjust the aim upwards a little (there's a guide in the Howto section). Mine are now perfectly acceptable rather than downright dangerous as they were when I bought that car

Actually, I've got Nightbreaker Plus in mine - I think they're superseding the original Nightbreakers as stocks get replaced.

Not sure the plastic headlights can handle 100W, let alone the wiring. Not legal either Put in a set of Nightbreaker (Plus), raise the aim, then see what you think.

Factory fit xenon will have headlight washers and the beam height adjust next to the headlight switch will be missing.

You're doubling the current being drawn through the wires and any relays. Not to mention the extra heat being generated which could melt the lenses and reflectors.

If you want a decent set of lights, then fit aftermarket HIDs.

^^This - don't muck about with expensive filament bulbs, spending more and more money for 'hit and miss' results.
Buy once - buy HIDs. The 'projector' style lamp can handle them perfectly well... some will moan they're illegal because there's no levelling or washers - but mine's been through 4 MOTs with them fitted and never had any complaints
