The VXR 345mm brakes will fit fine (and I believe even fit under the 17" wheels). Although I would look at upgrading the rears to the 292mm at the same time for balance if you don't already have them. Most people however choose to upgrade to the 314mm V6 setup as they are a substantial improvement in braking at a much cheaper price than the VXRs.

Either way you need to change the calipers, carriers, disks and pads. They're not interchangeable.

i know you said youve just got the brakes but for others wanting to go down the route of 314mm front brakes

    disk/pad kit 93186299
314mm caliper seal kit 93185768 x2 (if your fussy and dont trust the age/condition of the calipers)
stone guards LH 13203489 RH 13203490

then some fresh brake fluid to again if your fussy and want to do a fluid change at the same time

The stone guards/heat shields at the back of the disc on the facelift cars with 285 brakes cover the whole of the back of the disc with only a cut out for the small caliper. You have to cut a triangle out of the top and bottom of the shield to fit the 314 caliper
