Default Going from Diesel to petrol..

I am warming to the idea that maybe now is the time to be switching from diesel to petrol as i am not covering the mileage that i used to bearing in mind petrol is 7 or 8p cheaper per litre and the service costs are lower for petrol and also the reliability issues associated with diesel is a factor as well....?will i notice much difference in performance between the 1.8 petrol and a 2.0dti..

I have been looking at this car..
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1210731987...84.m1423.l2648

??Is it a good price for one.

    Give me your opinions please..

ps i do roughly 5,000 mile a year.

At that mileage I would go petrol mate also the 1.8 vvti should be slightly quicker than the old 2.0 dti but not the 1.9 cdti

Very tidy looking car, i'd say thats a fair price. Especially if you consider you'll be able to haggle a bit more off it. Dont think i'll ever willingly go back to petrol, the cdti 150 is just too good on fuel and chucks out such good performance. I do miss the sound of a petrol though!

Spot on, good price and good mileage, the interior is half leather (it says cloth on the Ad), it might also have autolights and autowipers, mine is the same spec and has more toys so it's worth going and having a look. it's not actually far from me.

The advert says 3 previous owners making you the 5th potential owner

and the next owner will be owner number 6 .

Some people may be put off by so many owners on a low milage car ( 59 K ) .

It's coming up to 6 years old on the 14th of May , but with it only doing approximately 9,800 miles a year , it will hopefully have many many years left in it .

I can't see any mention of Service History on Ebay advert .

Also the seller has creatively called the colour of the car .... Cream Pearl .

Where as a car search i did , called it BEIGE .

If you wanted to sell the car later , i would guess the number of people wanting a Beige car would be significantly lower than those wanting blue , silver , red , etc .

The Design model has an excellent spec , i had a 2.2 Direct Design last year before selling it .

Like you asked for , these are just my opinions .

Good luck with what ever you decide to purchase .

2.0dti is what 100bhp? So the main huge differences you will notice is that where the diesel pulls like a train from next to no revs, the petrol wont. The dti is out of puff at 4000, the vvt just gets on song at 3000. Doubt you will notice any difference in servicing costs tbh.
Nice car, decent spec being a Design too.

The garage thats selling it wont count themselves as an owner though? At least they wouldnt be down on the v5 as one.

2.0 dti would be faster and more economical by miles.

TBH for the mileage you do, it would be better for you to go back to petrol. If you fancy something quick get a nice gsi. Such as http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classif...2/radius/1500/
