Default Ebay flip key conversion Vec C

    Hi guys looking for advice

I bought a flip key conversion kit of Ebay and got the key cut, the key will open the car but when I put it into the ignition it comes up with the car and padlock on the display, think this is for the immobilser I presume? I didn't have the transponder in my fob when I opened it up. I put my key back how it was and it worked fine, im sorry am i missing something? Cant see where it would be hidden in the case or the key part
Any help is appreciated. It's doing my head in

If your existing key is a Vectra-C key and you transferred the remote control unit to the flip fob then it should work. The immobiliser "chip" you are referring to disappeared from use when Vx started to issue the keys for a Vec-C, the immobiliser "chip" is now integrated into the electronics on the fob, so if you move those to the flip, then it should work.

I thought as much, all of the fob was transfered over but got that error. I suppose i was clutching at straws hoping the transponder was hiding somewhere,, hmmm will have to keep trying i guess

Its the way its been cut mate, thats it!!! Ive had a few of these done to perfection by a good car key shop, and they told me its amazing how many people they get with none working keys as poorly cut! I started a massive thread on these keys and some people they work some not. Its all about who cut your key nowt to do with electronics. And did u make sure u ordered the correct HU key? As im sure there is two different

I would be surprised if it's a badly cut key. The key opens the door, and turns the ignition on.
